The Only Way

I __________ do hereby recognize that monied interests have corrupted the political body of the USA and that it will require a concentrated effort by The People to restore integrity to Congress and that can only be achieved by abolishing the doctrine of corporate personhood and the legalized bribery process of lobbying.

The above or something like it needs to be implemented. Grover Norquist and company have successfully implemented the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and we can use that success as a model to institute meaningful reforms in out polity.

It is imperative that we understand revolving doors and lobbying before we attempt to reform American politics. Perhaps John Perkins will help us is this matter.

Should we start a new political party? Is the tea party a political party? Can we get enough big names (experts and celebrities) to endorse and support the cause.

The Reform Party? oh dear, I see that's been taken. They seem okay, but there are some items I can't agree with such as line item veto powers for the pres. and a balanced budget amendment. The reform party seems to be taking things a little too far. We need something that is more simple and straight forward.

There is also the American Reform Party. They aren't the real deal either. People want good reforms, but don't really know what they are. Can we find them in a cage match?, in an anti-reform party?

Real political reforms should go beyond campaign finance so it's nice to see people noting that it won't even bother with elections. Sure, but what then are we to do?
